Hail damage · Dayton & the Miami Valley

Hail damage roof repair in Dayton. Every hit circled, photographed and dated.

Hail bruises are hard to see from the ground and easy to dispute without proof. Ryan Sheehan’s crews chalk-mark every hit, photograph every slope and soft metal, and hand you the evidence before anyone talks about a claim.

Hail damage is a proof problem before it’s a roofing problem

A hailstone that bruises a shingle knocks its granules loose and can crack the mat underneath. The roof may not leak for months, and from the street you will usually see nothing at all. Many policies set time limits for reporting storm damage, so waiting until it leaks can cost you.

What you can see are the clues: fresh dents in gutters, downspouts, vent caps and window wraps, spatter marks on paint and siding, and granules collecting at the bottom of downspouts. If neighbors are getting new roofs after a storm, yours deserves a close look too.

Our free inspection goes slope by slope. Hits are circled in chalk, soft metals are chalk-rubbed to reveal dents, and every finding is photographed with the date. You keep the photos either way, whether the damage supports a claim or not.

Repair the hits, or replace the roof?

A few isolated hits on a newer roof can sometimes be repaired. But hail rarely hits just one shingle, and a patchwork repair on a storm-battered roof can leave a mismatched, weakened system.

Ohio Administrative Code 3901-1-54 speaks to this for replacement-cost policies: when replacing damaged items leaves a mismatch in quality, color or size, the insurer is to replace as much as needed for a reasonably comparable appearance. We show you the evidence, explain what it supports and give you a written scope. If the damage is real, you file the claim and, with your authorization, we can meet your adjuster on the roof. If it isn’t, we tell you that too.

  • “Dominic was there every step of the way to help navigate the complicated insurance claim process, and went above and beyond to assist us in proving an entire replacement was necessary. Once the day came to make the replacement, the crew was fast and efficient. The replacement was completed in 2 days and once finished the only sign they had even been there was our brand new roof.”

He came out and arrived within the one hour time window, got right to assessing the damage and fixed it right there! He was quick, efficient, professional and very kind. … He wasn't pushy at all. He assessed everything and gave us a plan.”

FAQ

Hail Damage Roof Repair questions

How do I know if hail damaged my roof?

Check the soft metals first: fresh dents in gutters, downspouts and vent caps are the easiest clue from the ground. Shingle bruises and granule loss usually only show up on a close inspection, which is why ours includes chalk-marked photos of every slope.

What size hail damages a roof?

Hail around 1 inch and larger is generally considered capable of damaging asphalt shingles, but roof age, shingle type and wind all matter, and smaller hail can still dent soft metals. The only reliable answer is an inspection of your roof.

Is hail damage covered by homeowners insurance?

Hail is a covered peril under many Ohio homeowners policies, but deductibles and replacement-cost terms vary. Check your policy or ask your agent. We document the damage so you can decide with real evidence.

How long do I have to file a hail damage claim?

It depends on your policy. Many set a deadline for reporting storm damage, and waiting makes it harder to tie damage to a specific storm. Get the inspection soon after the storm, then decide.

Do you waive deductibles?

No. Your deductible is part of your policy, and we never ask homeowners to misrepresent anything to their insurer. Financing options are available if you need help with out-of-pocket costs.
