Aluminum siding · Dayton & the Miami Valley
Plenty of older Miami Valley homes still wear aluminum siding, and hail dents it like a car hood. Repairing it is harder than it looks, because finding a matching panel decades later is often impossible. We document the damage, look for a match and tell you the truth about your options.

Aluminum siding was a popular upgrade on Dayton-area homes for decades, and much of it is still on the wall. It doesn’t rot, but it dents easily, and one hailstorm can leave a whole elevation pocked. Over time the factory finish oxidizes and leaves a chalky film on your hand.
The hard part is replacing just a few panels. Very little aluminum siding is still made for houses, profiles differ from one maker to the next, and decades of sun change the color. A replacement panel next to an original can stand out from the street.
So we start with evidence: photos of every damaged elevation, the profile and exposure measured, and a search for matching material. If a match exists, a repair can make sense. If it doesn’t, you should know that before anyone writes a scope.
For policies that settle on a replacement-cost basis, Ohio Administrative Code 3901-1-54(I)(1)(b) reads: “When an interior or exterior loss requires replacement of an item and the replaced item does not match the quality, color or size of the item suffering the loss, the insurer shall replace as much of the item as to result in a reasonably comparable appearance.”
That doesn’t automatically mean a whole-house replacement, and every claim depends on its policy and facts. It does mean that whether a match exists is a real question, and it should be answered with evidence. We provide the photos and the material search; the coverage decision is between you and your insurer.

“Dominic was there every step of the way to help navigate the complicated insurance claim process, and went above and beyond to assist us in proving an entire replacement was necessary. Once the day came to make the replacement, the crew was fast and efficient. The replacement was completed in 2 days and once finished the only sign they had even been there was our brand new roof.”

FAQ
Very little is still made for houses, and matching an older profile and faded color is often impossible. Salvaged panels sometimes work for small repairs. We search for a match before recommending anything.
Minor dents can sometimes be left alone, or a few panels swapped if matching material exists. Widespread hail dents usually mean replacing the affected elevations, or more if a reasonable match can’t be found.
It depends on your policy and the facts. Ohio’s rule for replacement-cost policies calls for replacing as much as needed for a reasonably comparable appearance when the replacement doesn’t match. We document the damage and the match search so you and your insurer can decide with evidence.
Most homeowners choose vinyl or another modern siding, with new house wrap behind it. We walk you through options, colors and costs in writing.
