What GAF certification means for your roof
GAF, which describes itself as North America’s largest roofing manufacturer, certifies the contractors who can offer its enhanced warranties. A non-certified installer can put GAF shingles on your house, but can’t register the system for those warranties.
For you, that means a GAF Timberline shingle roof installed by XPRO ELITE with at least three qualifying GAF accessories (starter strip, ridge cap, leak barrier, roof deck protection or attic ventilation) can be registered for the System Plus Limited Warranty.
The honest fine print
System Plus covers manufacturing defects in the GAF materials. It does not cover installation workmanship. GAF’s workmanship-backed warranties, Silver Pledge and Golden Pledge, can only be offered by higher GAF tiers (Certified Plus and Master Elite contractors), and XPRO ELITE does not offer them.
What we do deliver is the installation those warranties are written around: a complete tear-off, a deck inspection, GAF underlayment and leak barrier, starter, ridge cap and ventilation, all in dated photos you keep. GAF’s own terms control; read them before you sign with anyone.

GAF Certified Roofer questions
What is a GAF Certified roofing contractor?
A contractor certified by GAF to install its roofing systems and to offer GAF’s enhanced warranties on qualifying systems. XPRO ELITE is GAF Certified.
What’s the difference between GAF Certified and GAF Master Elite?
They are different GAF tiers. GAF Certified contractors can offer the System Plus Limited Warranty. Certified Plus and Master Elite contractors can also offer Silver Pledge, and only Master Elite contractors can offer Golden Pledge, the tiers that add workmanship coverage.
Does the GAF warranty cover installation mistakes?
System Plus doesn’t. It covers manufacturing defects in the GAF materials, including tear-off and disposal when necessary. Workmanship coverage comes from GAF’s Silver and Golden Pledge warranties, which XPRO ELITE does not offer.
Which GAF shingles do you install?
